Transformers Devastator

Transformers Devastator is a unique Transformer character that is composed of several Constructicons. By the way, each Constructicon are transformers themselves which can change from robots to construction equipment such as dump trucks and concrete mixers, hence the term Constructicon. Although the Constructicon were designed to create or build things, as part of the Decepticons group, they are also capable of being destructive. The Constructicon have an arch enemy called the Autobots. These two groups are constantly battling each other. While the Autobots are good, the Constructicon, are evil.

Transformers Devastator was created solely for destructive purposes. The ability to become the Devastator was given to the Constructicons by Megatron, the evil leader of the Decepticons. Devastator was created by combining five or more Constructicons into one massive being. The mixture of Constructicons can include any combination of: Overload (lower waist), Scavenger (torso), Scrapper (right arm), LongHaul (right leg), Rampage (left leg), Hightower (left arm), and Mixmaster (head). Sometimes Devastator also includes a yellow dump truck as his left leg and a second bull dozer as his left hand. The Autobots responded to the creation of Devastator by forming their owned combined being: Superion.

The Devastator’s sole purpose is to destroy. He is a massive destructive being whose only ambition is to annihilate whatever is in its path. Due to his massive size, his movement is slow and labored and necessitates walking on all four. This gives him the appearance of a beast of burden. Devastator acts as if he is in constant pain and is angry about this. It is also obvious that he acts instinctively rather than rationally. Because he is a combination of Constructicons, his intelligence is severely compromised. This is because his thoughts and consequent behaviors are limited to what all body parts can agree upon at any given moment. This feature explains why Devastator acts in a primitive manner.

Transformers Devastators comes in several versions and are made by more than one company. Transformers robots are made by both Hasbro and Taraka. There is also more than one type of individual who is interested in collecting Devastator. There is the serious collector, most likely an adult who attempts to collect all of the Transformers robots. On the other hand, there are the children who have been introduced to Transformers either via an animated series or a new Transformer movie.

Both groups usually give Devastator an overall positive review. Children appear to be totally taken with Devastator. One reason for their reaction is the fact that he is composed of several robots which they can interact with separately or collectively. With some versions of Devastator it is as if the child has received numerous versions of one toy. They have each of the 5-9 Constructicons which make up Devastator. When the Constructicons are true Transformers, they can be changed from robots into construction equipment. This fact seems to double the number of toys. Finally, the Constructicons can be transformed into the awesome Devastator.

Devastator’s rating is also based upon: ease of construction of the individual Constructicons and Devastator, pose ability, and sturdiness. The biggest complaint appears to be that some versions of the robots are made of flimsy material that is difficult to pose. However, overall Devastator gets generally positive reviews.
